A T-17 of known reliability ascertained that on January 21, 1950, uM Pi iiTA Au af Years Me, (Mavian) asuiesd RETANSOUPRT that che weac leaving ony’ Tea Ca Vd Wein Wa ue alta Uv gy NF da et a a Re ee ee ht wae Gee re ae OY OE that day and that BRI ANCOURT should reclaim the New Orleans ticket, It appears that this may be the sister, or sister-in-law of BETANCCURT whom he is reported to have met at New Orleams enroute to Havana, GBP of known reliability has advised that BETANCOURT while at Havana, Cuba, on February 6th advised his wife that a particular draft (money draft) nad not yet arrived. @MMB2s ascertained tha on March 3, 1950, individuals described as ANIONIC, RAUL, OLAVARRIA, CARLOS and ANDRES advised BETANCCURT that they had Just arrived at a hotel on the Colombian border; that NASS was arranging for a visa and that others were to follow on Saturday anc wnat they expected to be in Costa Rica the next day. It appears that NASS is undoubtedly identical to RAVI FPAae KRAUL NASS, who has been previously described as the former secretary to President GALLEGOS, It apsears that the individuals described as ANTONIO, RAUL, OLAVARRIA, CARLOS and ANDRES may be identicdl to some of thepersons mentioned by BET ANCOUR] 4n his press release following his appearace before the OAS as previously described. Learned that on Karch 32,1950. on> who described hinself as : of known reliability that ne had reliable knoviedge to the eifect ‘that inter- national Communist agents he adc cd by RGJULO BSTANCOURT had organized « Congress of supposed exiles, making this Contress appesr as anti-Communist ir. order to win a over Nerth American opinicn and tc pain an audience witn Mrs, ROCSEVaIT, ROURISUEZ also stated that azsording tc instructions of LAURENT BSkIA, which were transmitted to BET ANCOC RT by one OLERC on his recent trip to havana and Mexico, the congress of supposed exiles must advocate peace with Russia and allow Soviet agents,selected specifically for these new measures, to eucceed in infiltration on a permanent basis of various American countries, RODRIGUEZ stated that es’a’-- friend sf the United States ard as one who is in favor of inter-Aterican unity, he co nzexred the despicable activities of these Commnist agents and said that he viulidovicy with horror Mrs, ROOSEVELTts becoming involved with elements of the above described breed in instarces which could occesizn serious harm to all knerica, QB poesessed no informetion conserning tle reliability, qualificatims and background of SD nor concerning the accuracy cf his statement.
