CONIKIDENT TAL The first source on March 17, 1961, advised that at a meeting of the CP of Illinois State Board recenfly held in Chicago, Jim West, Executive Secretary of the CP of Illinois, distributed a flyer calling for 2 * €onference On ™eace, Jobs, and Freedom", issued by the AFSC and six labor officials, The flyer noted that this meeting was to be held on April 14 and 15, 1961. West stated that this is supposed to be strictly a trade union affair. West explained that delegate fees at this Conference are five dollars for those representing an organization and three dollars for individual delegates. He pointed out that individual delegates do not have the right to vote or to be recognized from the floor and that, therefore, al1 Party members should try to be delegates from their respective unions. West added that there would not be @ lot of advextising about this ConZerence and -noted that the Conference would be on television only while it is being held since that is what the trade unions want,.
