Following adjournment of the conference until the
following day, SAM KUSHNER engaged JAMES WILBURN in conversation
during which WILBURN remarked that the' speaker of the evening,

cold wir. EUSSNER e2id this was true, but that FROMM was an 4
intellectual and had given the intellectual approach to the
problem. He said that they could probably talk of many
weaknesses of the conference, but that one outstanding fact
appeared which could not be ignered and that was the fact that
the meeting was being held. He said a year ago it would have
been impessible to get the people in attendance that evening
to come out for a conference on peace and that he felt the mere
fact that they were in attendance at the conference in such i
numbers consituted a major break through fer the forces for ;
peace. KUSHNER stated that many weaknesses would undeubtedly
show up during the conference, but that congéntration should
be on the positive aspects ef the conference which he felt were
far more important. He stated that he had every intention of
peing in St. Louis on April 29, 1961 to participate in the 4
