Memorandum to Mr. Bishop
RE: Miss Ellen McCarthy
She commented to the effect that based upon her experience with Secret
Service agents that the work of FBI Agents seemed to be extremely more
interesting and challenging. Undoubtedly she had reference here to the
i fact that the President had ordered Secret Service coverage of all
? Presidential candidates following the assassination of Senator Robert F.
Kennedy. No comment whatsoever of a political nature occurred during
the course of Miss McCarthy's visit and, upon leaving the Bureau, she
expressed her gratitude to SA Jones for a most interesting visit and
wished him the best of luck. SA Jones mentioned that Miss McCarthy's
companion, Nancy Stone, was very quiet during the course of their entire
visit and had neither questions nor observations to make as she viewed
our Headquarters set-up.
