THE WHTED STATES FURDAU OF INVESTIGATION,
investigative Jurisdiction.
The United States Bureau of Investigation hes the
responsilility of investigating cffenses egeinst the lews of the
United States and collecting evidence in cases in which the United
States is or mey be a party, end possesses primery investigative
jurisdiction of those offenses against the laws of the United -
States not specifically assigne@a ty Congressional enactment to
other Governmental agencies for investigetion.
TEis Bureau does not investigate violations of the
Netional prohibition Act, the Narcotic Levs, Smugzling, Counterfeiting,
Immigration Laws, end certain other miscellaneous statutes.
Arong the most generally known violations investigeted
ty the United States Bureau of Investigation are the following:
Benkruptcy Act; Antitrust Laws; National Pank ‘and
Federal Reserve Acts; Crimes on the High Seas end
on Indien and Government Reservations: Frauds Ageinst
the Government; Impersonation; Peonage; Theft of
Government Property; Bribery of Government officers:
Espionage; Escaped Federal Prisoners; Neutrelity
