It is obvious thet even better service cen be given by the Division as its records becomemore complete. All peace officers are there- fore invited to meke the fullest possible use of this cooperative project. 7 4 pamphlet has been prepared an¢ is available entitled “How to Take Fingerprints,” which contains instructions concerning e simple and standardized method of taking fingerprints, and which | glso refers further to the Division's identificetion activities, in- clucing its participetion in an international exchange of finger- : prints with the identification bureeus of @grorsign countries for : the purpose of identifying criminals who may have records of an international character. The prints of persons arrested in the United States will be sent upon request to any of these foreign identification bureaus. Any law-enforcenent officer who is now, or may desire to become a contributor of finserprints to the Division of Investigetion in its identification work, will be supplied with a copy of this pamphlet upon request. The cost of the equipment necessary to teke the prints is triviel; in fect it may be im- proviseé locelly with but slight expense. This Division will supply the neeced carcs end envelopes which require no postage, without cost, while the benefits of tie informetion furnished by the Division are menifold andi so fer outweigh thc relatively suall amount of work involved, thet the service is usually continued after initial fingerprinting activities are started. 12
