buckshot from a service issued REMINGTON, Model 870 pump shotgun.
After firing the last shotgun round SA MIRELES drew his service
revolver, approached the subjects, firing six rounds through the
automobile front driver window at subjects MATIX and PLATT.
Examination of casualties at the scene by arriving
medical personnel determined that SA's GROGAN and DOVE were
deceased, subjects MATIX and PLATT were deceased and SA's
MCNEILL, HANLON and MIRELES were critically wounded. SA's —
MCNEILL and HANLON were transported to a local hospital facility
by MEDIVAC helicopter service. “SA MIRELES was transported to a
medical facility by ambulance. SA's MANAUZZI and ORRANTIA were
transported via FBI vehicle, treated for multiple shotgun pellet
and shrapnel penetration, and released the same day.
. Post shooting investigation at the scene has determined
that approximately 143 shots were fired in the exchange.
Eyewitness statements suggest that several automobiles drove
into, or through the shooting parameter during the incident, but ;
it is not verified from which direction they came or what route (
was taken in exit. Best estimates from review of $7
recorded radio transmission,

e conclusion tha e gun battle lasted for a period of four to
five minutes. Autopsy examination of the subjects determined
that MATIX had been hit six times and PLATT had been hit twelve:
times. Evidence indicates that the subjects were wounded while
in the Monte Carlo (at the onset of the gun fire exchange), while
firing at SA's from the vantage point in the front area of their
Monte Carlo, while entering the FBI GROGAN/DOVE unit and while in
the FBI vehicle during their attempted flight from the scene.
During the shooting incident the subjects fired one 12 ga.
shotgun, two .357 Cal. revolvers and one .223 Cal. semi-automatic
rifle.
