Here one of the pictures is reproduced procured by the spy: The photograph _ Of the Soviet military aerodrome. Pictures on page 17: Another of the principal missions of espionage of F. H. POWERS was the reconnaissance of Soviet radar stations. For this purpose the "Lockheed U-2" was provided with a system of radio apparatuses and a magnetophone for the impression of the acoustic signals of the Soviet radar apparatuses. In the picture: The apparatuses of radio exploration of the “Lockheed U-2."_ . Magnetophone ‘wMR-12570" with which the North American air spy impressed the data pertaining to the Soviet radar stations. The reserve of tape was calculated for the impression during many hours of flight. Picture on page 18: "Element" of the installations of the plane: An explosive — block, destined for the destruction of the plane and pilot if the latter had to abandon the plane by the use of the catapult when he was over foreign territory. As it is known, F. H. POWERS did not use the catapult, perhaps because he guessed the terrifying secret of this’automatic device” -of the upper light which, currently, serves when entering the plane. Picture on page 19: Objects of the altitude equipment of F. H. "POWERS: A hermetic helmet, parachute with oxygen apparatus, a special suit.
