Again on Lecember 20, 1943, according to the above source, Gaal»
notified BRO°H that tne Cuild was arranging a luncheon at the Sir Francis
Drake Yotel, to be in the nature of a weicome dinner for BROVN, At that
time BRO”! and QED discussed tre changes to be made in the Jistrict
Attorney's Office.
Confidential Informant QM on Aueust 11, 1944, reported tnat
was a versonal friend of ~istrict Attorney ZDMUND BROUN as
they used to be fellow Uemocrats. GHEE is a known Communist and
was active in the affairs of the -ornmunist-dominated California Labor

Confidential Informant QR in Seotemder of 1944, reported that
the California Labor °chool was endeavoring to cet =ROL! to contribute

In December of 1944, several individuals in San Francisco were
charging the California Labor school with being a Conmunist Yarty front,
whereunon, according to Confidential Informant
(Communist), QD contacted District Attorney BRO!
regarding an answer to these charges. According to after
his contact with BRON, BROWN stated, “Anybody in town could be referred
to him and he would cive me end the school a complete bill of sale."
The San Francisco Field Jivision is in possession of a letterhead
entitled, "Salute to Young America Comaittee," which was a committee,
according to the letterhead, to sponsor the American Youth for Vemocracy's
Second Anniversary Dinner in San Francisco. This letterhead lists aDMUND
G. BEO"H as a member of the Committee in “ormation. According to Confidential
Informant QB who furnished tais letterhead, SRCVN was being consiaered
by the Communist Party as a speaker for this committee.
Confidential Informant QQ in January of 1945, furnished a
list of names vrepared at State Comiunist warty -eadquarters. Tnis list
was captioned, "Names for 'Feople's worla Advisory Committee.'" ERCVN's
