It was determined that the typewriting on Q163
through Ql171 is the same style as the typewriting on specimens
Q20 through Q23 and Q32 through Q39, previously submitted is
dn this case. A definite conclusion was not reached whether
the questioned typewriting on these items was prepared a
‘by the same typewriter, due to the lack of a sufficient .
number of individual identifying characteristics. Although ~
some typewriter characteristics in common were observed
4n comparing the typewriting on Q163 through Q171 with
“the typewriting on Q20 through Q23 and Q32 through Q39,
these characteristics on Q163 through Q17l’were inconsistent.
The typewriting on Q163 through Q171, Q20 through
Q23-and Q32 through Q39 corresponds to Laboratory standards
for a Smith-Corona or SCM elite style of type, spaced
twelve characters per horizontal inch.
