As you will recall, Dr. Miron conducted’a computer analysis of the first four tapes received from the Symbionese Liberation Army in this case. He is conducting a computer analysis on R) Tape 5 at the present time. ul Ae Dr. Miron stated tht he recalled readipg somewhere that the Hearst family have consulted Frederic acker of the Hacker Institute in California. Dr. Hacker isf according to Dr. Miron, an expert on.terrorist activities. Dr. Miron is a member of the Psychology Department, Syracuse University, and is a professor of psycholinguistics. 4 Ne > ? Dr. Miron felt that Mr. Hearst by expressing amazement ‘was not helping the situation concerning his daughter and if he , ~ is going to continue to appear before the press he should adopt \L other tactics. ! - Dr. Miron, as you will recall, suggested at a meeting at FBIHQ on April 3, 1974, that Patricia Hearst was the perfect subject to be kidnaped because she would lean upon and adopt the attitude of her kidnapers and predicted she would adopt a very hostile attitude toward the FBI and all of this was before the tape in which Patricia Hearst stated she was joining the SLA. Dr. Miron stated that while Patricia Hearst has been _ assimilated by the SLA with proper treatment she could be brought back into the real world. He said that her case is not unique. Dr. Miron expressed the desire if possibile to personally talk to Mr. and Mrs. Hearst and felt that he could possibly explain to them the reasons for their daughter's action and the fact that all is not lost, that she can be retrieved.
