Miron inquired as to whether or hon would be possible for our San Francisco Office to convey jis thoughts to the Hearst family and convey to Hearst that te, Dr. Miron, would Tike to sit down with the Hearsts. He stated that he made this unusual request because he was well aware that the Hearst family was under tremendous pressuy€ and that he felt he could\help them and if he wrote a Letyer not knowing who he was or anything about him the letter/would be ignored. He said he would prefer a face to face talk because they could .ask him questions and anything he put,down would be cold and * analytical, =~ fo + . ae° Dr. Miron was advised that to Gallagher's knowledge the FBI had never had anything to do with Dr. Hacker whom he - mentioned and that we could not recommend to Mr. Hearst that he see Dr. Miron and, in fact, all we could do would be to pass along his request to Mr. Hearst without any endorsement whatsoever and the decision would be solely Mr. Hearst's, Dr. Miron stated he fully understood.
