These cartridges were appar- ently dropped by the abductors during the scuffle in the . apartment since the victim's fiance Steven Weed stated he never saw the ammunition before and is certain there was no ammunition in the apartment prior to the kidnaping. The FBI Laboratory advised that a number of these cartridges bear mechanism marks which suggest they have been loaded and extracted from a weapon.
