Director See's __ At 11:45 this morning, Inspectér inn in my | office received a telephone call from representative, Hearst _Publicdtions, and-a — g-standing acquaintance, who advised that John-Miller, Executive Vice President, Hearst Publications, 959 8th .- Avenue, New York City,. (telephone: 262-7782) just called him to inform him that he ‘had received two telephone calls this morning from two different individuals claiming to have information regardi the kidnaping. Miller instructed qu — “with this information in order at they might be appropriately to contact my office contacted by the FBI relative to this matter. as advised that the New York Office would be instructed to immediately contact both of these gentlemen. This information was immediately brought to the attention of Assistant Director Gebhardt who advised he would contact the New York Office. At 11:55 this morning, Assistant Director Gebhartit subsequently advised that SAC Schutz, New York Office, was instructed to immediately contact Miller and | Massi.
