After the apprehension of Little and Remiro officers spurred by the discovery of the largqe amount of SLA literature in the van were searchina for a residence of a Devoto on Sutherland Court area of Clayton, California. A police car was in the vicinity when it noticed smoke coming from the home at 1560 Sutherland Court. A radio call was immediately made to the fire department which arrived in four minutes and extinguished a gasoline set fire in three minutes. Search of the premises thereafter indicated that the occupants had splashed about a gallon of gasoline in the interior of the house and then left the remainder of the four qallons in a five qallon can expecting to start a fire that would destroy the residence, Neighbors in that vicinity who have since been interviewed have identified the occupants of the house as being Nancy Ling Perry, nee Ling, a youna caucasian female, and Russell J. Little, who were living under the name of Devoto. These people also reported that Ling, alona with an unknown male, had left the residence in a heavily loaded car minutes before the fire was discovered and extinguished. Source pointed out that Marcus Foster had been shot eight times with a .380 and the qun found in the possession of Remiro was the qun used in the Foster execu- tion. Foster's assistant, Robert Blackburn, who was only injured, was shot with .00 buck and with one bullet from a -38 caliber Rossi. The bullets used to kill Foster contained potassium cyanide.
