GENERAL INVESTIGATIVE DIVISION
NEARNAP SUMMARY
Attached summarizes current investigative status and
ederal grand jury (PGJ) proceedings for various harboring
uspects in Rearnap matter.
John Joseph-and Ioulse Scott (parents of Jack Scott) ag
ell as Philip Kent Shinnick (former Olympic broad jumper and
ssociate of Jack Scott) scheduled to appear before FGJ at
An Francisco (SF) 4/10/75.
The current whereabouts of Jack and Micki Scott remain
nknown.
SP feels any (material witness) warrants for Jack and
‘icki Scott should be issued subsequent to 4/16/75 FGI
t SF. SP feels this would be to FBI's advantage and
llow close coverage on the Scotts if located and PGI
Tessure on parents and friends may induce their cooperation.
Departmental Attorney Erandon Alvey advised 3/28/75,
uthority secured for material witness warrants for Jack and
icki Scott to appear before GJ, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania,
nor about 4/16/75. Mr. Alvey requested FEI attempt to
arve subpoenas at known past residences of Scotts prior to
ssuance of warrants. Additionally, Department will recall
', Weiner (Jack Scott associate) regarding discrepancies in
is FGJ testimony of 3/13/75. SP and other concerned offices
