3 samples were taken from the van's gas tank and were furnished to the Richfield Corporation and the Texaco Corporation for analysis to determine the manufacturer. After chemical analysis, both companies advised that they have been unable to determine ehe manufacturer but through these tests had determined that neither Richfield nor Texaco have produced the gasoline. Repre- sentatives from both companies stated that since the introduction of unleaded gasoline, the metal tracers formerly used in fuel and which were the most reliable gasoline identifiers were no longer available. The samples furnished to Richfield and Texaco substantially depleted the amount in the van's tank and thus no further examinations regarding fuel manufacturer are contem+ plated. ; . ; “er Sah aetna cased Contact has been maintained on a regular basis with the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office concerning their | findings at 1466 East S4th Street, Los Angeles, California, on 5/17/74.
