Mr. LEWLS advised that on the advice of his attorney, he would answer absolutely no questions concerning the matter whatsoever, He stated that it was the position of his radio station that sources of information must be protected, and that therefore under no circumstances would he divulge any of the details concerning the above matter, Va At this point in the interview of Mr. LEWIS, his attorney, DAVID FINK®L, volunteered that he might recommend to Mr. LEWIS that the station furnish the necessary information to the FRE if they could be assured that the original tape recording which they received and which con- tained statemerits by individuals claiming to be PATRICIA HEARST and WLLLIAN and THLLY HARRES would never be sub pocnued by the Federal Government. 5A Mr. LEWIS that he was not in a position vt whether or not the tape would ever be subpoenaed by the Federal Government. wn eee a sy specifically requested of Mr. LEWIS to insure that the original tape recording and the container in which it ellegedly came, were preserved for later physical examination by the FBI.
