Bates to Gebhardt Memo RE: HEARNAP actually deposited for delivery. Inquiry with postal employees handling east coast mail 11/20/74, at the Sectional Center was négative regarding this envelope. ; ~ A summary of the Laboratory examination findings ~ - are as follows: The letter and envelope were not associated with material maintained in the Anonymous Letter File. The typewriting on the envelope and letter corresponds to Laboratory standards for a Remington Pica style of type, spaced ten characters per horizontal inch. No typewriting on items previously submitted to the Laboratory in this case and case captioned "Symbionese Liberation Army (SLA), EM," were found to correspond to this style of type. The envelope and letter contain no watermarks, indented writing of significance or other characteristics to aid in definitely determining their source, A ten-cent U. S. Postal Service stamp, torn from a booklet of stamps, is affixed to the envelope. The Identification Division advised that the specimens + were examined and no latent prints of value developed.
