ridges, It is raoted that the Q1900 cartridge did not have
a plug in its hollow tip.
— Specimen Q1904 is a .38 Special caliber cartridge
case of Western manufacture which was identified as having
been fired in the K83 Colt revolver. The K83 revolver was
. @lso identified as having been the weapon in which the
previously submitted Q1013 through Q1029 and Q1031 through
Q1037 cartridge cases were fired, Specimens Q1013 through Q1029
and Q1031 through Q1037 were recovered from the hallway
closet at 1827 Golden Gate Avenue, San Francisco and were
described in Laboratory report PC-K7449 PR, dated May 24, 1974,
- Specimen Q1903 is a .38 caliber cast lead bullet
which has been fired from a barrel rifled with six lands
and grooves, left twist. Although the rifling impressions
present in the Q1903 bullet are the same as those produced
by the K83 revolver, specimen Q1903 is mutilated and lacks
sufficient individual microscopic marks of value for ident-
ification with a weapon,’
-30 CARBINE CALIBER CARTRIDGE CASES
Specimens Q1905 through Q1913 and Q1918 are .30
Carbine caliber cartridge cases, ~The Q1905 through Q1913
cartridge cases were identified as having been fired ina
Single weapon. The Q1918 cartridge case could not be
associated with these other cartridge cases and could
possibly have been fired in a different weapon, The
"WW .30 CARBINE" headstamps present on the Q1905 through
Q1907 cartridge cases indicate they are of Wiuchester-
Western manufacture. The "LC68" headstamps present on
the Qi908 through Q1913 cartridge cases indicate they
were manufactured for military use by the Lake City
Ordnance Plant, Minneapolis, Minnesota. The "R-P 30
CARBINE" headstamp on the Q1918 cartridge case indicates
it is of Remington-Peters manufacture. The Qi905 through
Q1913 and Q1918 cartridge cases were microscopically
-compared with all similar specimens previously submitted
in this case and the test cartridge cases obtained from.
