5 i. THE SYMBICNEZE LIBERATICN ARMY There are two deep vurposes in revolution: to deatroy the enemy and free the people. To accomplish these the people need an army of the people trat fights the enemy. In the United States of Amerikkka we ase that it will be necessary to institute revolutionary people's war to defeat the capitelist ruling class and free the pezple. To mobilize the people in order to reach the stage of people's war, we must first engage in urban guerrilla warfare. The Symbionese Liberation Army is a network of autono- mous military/political combat units and tectical support cells which are unified under a strategic command, the Sym- bionese War Council. The Symbionese Liberation Army is composed of military/political elements of many different races. Our unified purpose ia to liberate the oppressed peoole in the Fascist United States of Amerikkka and to aid other oppressed people around the world in their just struggles for national liberetion. The righteous struggles of Third World and other oppressed people in the U.8.A. and throughout the world are closely connected because we are all fighting the same enemy, UeS3- corporate fascism and tmperialiam. The Symbionese Liberation Army is a people's army whose sole interest is to Berve and defend the people, since the people always come first in our hearts and souls. The strategy of the Symbionese Liberation Army is to carry out urban guerrilla warfare in the U.S.A. as a mobii-~ ization stege leading to all out revolutionary war and the total annihilation of the capitalist ruling classe and all its agents of murder, oppression and exploitation.
