1941 reveals that the HIGHLANDEX FOLK SCHCCL was. chartered under the lews
of the State ef Tennessee cn January 31, 1934. The school was chartered
by MYLES HORTON, ELIZABETH HAWES, JALES” DOKBROWSKI, RUPERT HAMPTON and
WALCOLM CHISHOLM. In this reps ort the members of the Executive Committce cf
the HIGHLANDER FOLK SCHOOL are also sct out. The information in QD Qe
report was obtained from the February 1941 issue of the Highlander Fling,
the officiai publicaticn cf the HIGHLANDER FOLK SCHOOL. In addition to the
mombers cf the Executive Ccmmittee, the February 1941 issue of the Highlander
Fling listed tw. more members, nemely, Dr. GEORGE MAYHEW, Prefesscr of
Religion, Vanderbilt University, Nashville,Temessce, and JOE DOBBS,
Plumberst Unicn, A. F. of L., Chattanscga, Tennessee. The names of all
the mombers cf the Executive Committec cf the HIGHLANDER FOLK SCHOOL were
checked against the indices cf the Knoxville Field Office. Ncthing of
interest was fcund concerning ALBERT BARNETT, GEORGE TITLER or Dr. GEORGE
. MAYHEW. In a letter to the Dircctor gated October 13, 1941 from the Memphis
