Reference is made to the communication received from Lieutenant
Colonel F. E. Louwage, Inspector General of the Belgian Security of State, »
Permanent Recorder of the Ainternational Commission of Chiefs of Police, in
which the Colonel mentions the convention called for that organization on
June 3, 1946, at Brussels, Belgium. Yon inquired as to whether we- have
received an official invitation to attend that convention.
\\ There is no record of receipt of an official invitation by the
rureau as yet. Legal Attache John A. Cimperman by letter dated April 12,
1946, advised of a conversation he had with RonaldHowe, Deputy Commissioner
of New Scotland Yard, concerning the I, C. C. Pe Commissioner Howe spoke- d
| very Highly of the organization, referred to the meeting on June 3, 1946, .
and ‘stated that in the event the Bureau would like to become a member of
the commission he would be only too glad to forward to the Bureau the
necessary invitation. Mr. Cimperman asked if the Bureau were interested
in this proposal.
It will be recalled that the Bureau replied to a previous zB.
communication from Colonel Louwage in a letter from you dated April 5, 1946.
He inquired at that time as to your views with regard to participation in ~
