This vote, be it noted, was merely apcn the matter of requiring the taking of this oath as a pre-requisite to membership. A pamphlet entitled "Aperica Menaced by Mili-~ tarism” an appeal to women circulated by the W.I.k. contains in its back the following: ®Go to war if you want to, but know this: we have pledged ourselves not to give you our children; not to encourage or nurge yoor soldiers; not to knit e eock,or roll a bandage, oF drive - a truck, or make a war speech, or bay a bond". The purposes of the organization continue to be a fight against "militeriem" in any form and the abolishment of the army and navy, national guerd, oivil- {ane training camps and, in fact, anything relating to ‘national defense, as well as & very active campaign for -the repeal of the ermy reorganization act of 1920. At the meeting of the W.1I.L. in Washington in April 1922, heretofore mentioned, there was unanimously ~ adopted a resolution urging the President to release ell “political prisoners” held under the espionage act.
