HELLEBERG SUBJECT: JAHAI; PERJURY ESPIONAGE - Rs; INTHIRIAL SHCURITY - R Re: Philadelphia letter to Director, 11/20/50. OLIVER J. CAROW, Remington-Rand Company, 1524 Locust Street, home address 5318 Locust Street, Philadelzhia, telephonically contacted this office on 12/15/50, and requested that the writer call him at his home during the evening of 12/15/50. The writer had previously spoken with Mr. CAROVW on 11/20/50, and had obtained the information set ovt in referenced letter. During the course of this contact the writer furnished Mr. CAROW his name and Mr. CAROW evidently assumed tuat the writer had sore comection with captioned case. The writer called Mr. CAROW, as requested during the evening of 12/15/ 50, at which tire CAROW advised that he had been contacted twice by Mir. KEV'TITH SIMON, Attorney for ALGER =TISS, and that SIMON had again re- x quested he review Woodstock typewriter records for information pertinent to NY the typewriter involved in this case. Mr. SIMON furnished CAROW with a serial number, N~230099, and request=d that sales records for this typewriter rt be obtained. Tir. CAROW advised that he had spent two evenings durinz the . vast week looking for rec.rds pertainins to this typewriter without success. He requested the writer advise him whether the serial number furnished hin by Lr. SIDN was near the serial number for which he and SA JAMES L. EIRELAND had searched for records previously. : A veview of the file in this case reflects that Woodstock N-250099 was determined by the laboratory to be identical with the typewriter with which the questioned documents in this case were copied. The writer contacted Mr. CARQW at 10:00 a.m., 12/16/50, and cS advised him that another agent of this office would contact him on 12/16/50. Sah oH r hy it an
