the petitions signed by the Progressive Miners definitely establishing the

hearing and he told him he would prescrt 113 petition at the proper time.

when EDMUNDSON came tuck he contacted them tre~they went to the United Mine
‘orkers Building and signed a ict of names on the petition with their left
hand and right hand in any way they cculd change their writing. He said
they signed 350 names on there altogetnor. I, personally, never saw any
petition circuletcd by the United Mine “orkers and none was ever produced
in any of the proceedings which folloved thot I kmow of,
"T was not at the mine in December of 1937 vhon an attempt was made
to open it just prior to the labor bocrd election, The labor board election
was held on Desomber 15, 1937, ot which time the Frogressives won tho
election by en overwhcolming majority by vote of 404 for the Progressives
and 25 for the United Minc Workers. Thore vas nothing that J saw that was
unfair concerning this eloction.

Local $4. It was the duty of thie committea to take up grievances with -
