day and don't know whether anyone worked or not. I was
at the mine about 10 or 12 days during the strike, we
were there to protect the mine and our jobs. I never saw anyone there
but local 54 members. I went out there of my own free will. I was not at
the mince when the Marshall came cut.

‘“Ahon the Mine “B" opened in 1939 I rcecived a registered letter
telling me to come back. TI went out on a Monday and went right to work.
I understood that we were to get Union wages and I was paid Union wages.
I psid dues to P.M.A. for some time after going back to work, After I
went back to work for a while I quite psying ducs to P.M.A. end made up
my mind to join UlMone T stopped paying dues to P.M.A. because I did not
like the way they were handling death benefits.
