of 1940, and worked until it closed down in the spring of the next year.
I had decided to quit, beceuse my health was bothering me, and I didn't
plan on going beck to work in the mines. I didn't go to any wnion mest-
ings, and don't zanything thet went on in the summer of 1941, However,
in thet sumer, iim :- me at the tavern one day and asked me to
join the U.M...., that Line & would open up much sooner if I did. I told
him I wem't going back to work in the mines, and he didn't sey anything more.
