Loveland dated July 21, 1945 concerning a transfer cf Carpazna and others to Leavenwerth ccntains the. following: "From information received, it is quite evident that money is being paid to obtain the transfer of these men to Leaverworth, cnd I do not believe. they should be transferred at this time for this reason. TI, of course, trould have ne objections but there will be problems at Leavenworth in respect’ to the above the same as here." Penitentiary at Atlanta dated April 26, 1945 reading as follows: "He ig a.!i. | member of a gang of labor racketeers with connections in the undérworld -in nee Chicago and New York. There are several members of -this gang,’ co-fendants, -. presently in this institution. The settled activities of this group have been ©: causing considerable trouble here and it-is felt most advisable to separate 1.7 af: him frou his co-defendants.
