This is the last I have ever seen of Macon. However, on aan
June 20, 1933, or the 2ist, I @o not recall exactly, Mrs. Mason: |
came to my house and told me that they decided to go Korth fish
ing and give up the house. She incuired whether I would move
their effects into my house and keep then until they returned
to Kansas City. She did not tell me the period of how long
- .
they would be absent from Kanses City. At this time, she wes mers,
unaccompanied and was all by herself. 1 aid not make any in-
quiries as to where her husband was, and she did not tell
me enything about biz. I told Mrs. Mason that I had enough
space in my house to keep her effects until she returned, and
she then handed me the key of the front door to their apart-
ment, and she then left without telling me as to the exact -
destination, or where she and Mr. Mason intended to g° fishing,
except that she {ndicated that they, meaning herself, her hus- .- Le
band and child, were going North.
I visited Mason's home on saturday, June 24th, for the ‘purpose
of ascertaining whether all the windows were properly closed -
and after having seen that everything wes 0X. at the house, 1 .
decided to move the things on Monday.
On Monday June 26, I made arrangenents with ‘the Waldo Transfer wo.
Company located at 74th end Wornall, Kansas City, to move Mason's
effects into my house. At about 10:00 ofclod&kthat morning, I -
called the Waldo Transfer Company on the telephone and told them
that I would meet them at the house. Entering the house, t: found
that all the effects which were left by Mr. and Mrs. Mason at
that address were piled up in the basement excepting two dey
beds, which were in the attic. I instructed the drive to deliver
the things removed from Mason's house to ny residence and this
was done. . - _— .,
