Mendel he advised thet after Mrs, Conner left the premisea at 1101 Central a young lady named Hinkle came to the apartment with the key and entered the premises, advising him that Lire. Conner had asked her to forward a picture which haf been left. It had deen noted by Agents that there wore two card-board picture frames in the apartment, it appearing that the photogrephe had been removed, possibly in haste. These showed that the photographs had been wade at Snith’s Studios, San £ntonio, Texas. Mies Hinkle sas located at the novelty shop located in the basement of the Arlington Hotel, and was first interviewed by Agent Nethan under pre- text, at which time she advised that she bas no idea where Mra. Conner can be located, stating that she has known irs. Conner for some time in a social way. Ske expressed surprise that she should be questioned for information as to hrs. Conner acd gave no information of value. Subsequently Kise Hinkie was interviewed openly by Agent Anderson, eteting thet she bad obtained the key to the apartment for inspection, aa she has a young married sister who wanted to rent a place; that the pictures she obtained were of herself; and thet she had no information aa to Mre. Conner's whereabouts and had sent tothing to her. It ia noted that while hiss Hinkle denied inticate acquaintance with bre, Conner, she claimed that her photographs were in the apartment. It. is also noted that Mise Hinkle advised that she is related to a book-maker in Kot Springs, Arrangements will be made to have a cover placed on the mail of kiss Hinkle, tracings to be furnished to the Eansas City office. M, T. Relyee, Menager of the Maurice Baths, given by kre. Conner as a reference in obtaining telephone service, was interviewed. He advised that he was acquainted with Mra. Conner and her former husband, and also advised that Nash had taken beths at hie place. ke further identified photoe grephs of Herbert’Farmer and FritzMulloy as persons he had seen at the bath house. kr. Relyea frankly edmitted that his place was used dy numbers of — confidence men, stating thet they were not permitted to operate in the place, but were good customers. He stated that he would under no circumstances *finger* a man, but expressed no sympathy for confidence men or gangeters. No information of value as to kre. Connor wae obtained from the interview, but Agents were impressed with bie apparent sincerity, and it is not believed that he hes any infornation as to the massacres Urs. Eleanor Barris, Dugan-Stuart Building, another referees, . ws interviewed, but advised that she has no information ae to Mra. Conner wom wie knows only ag a customer.
