Station, Fort Smith, Arkansas, wae interviewed. He advised he had recently
been contacted by an Agent of this Bureau for detaile regarding the board-
ing of the train by Federal Agente on the night of June 16, 1922, ui th
Frank Nash, and had furnished 611 informtion in his possession. Ee .
etated that while the officers were in the station with their prisoner,
and while they were boarding the train, he saw nothing which woulde rouse
bie suspicion. He advised that while the officere were at the station «
long distance telephone call wes received for Chief Reed, who talked over
the telephone in the ticket office, In view of the fact that a Bureau
Agett had mede previous inquiry resarding what transpired at the Missouri
Pecifie Station Agents did not go into greater deteil with Kr. Harper,
Subsequent to Agents' departure from Eot Springs information was
" peceived at Little Rock from Mr. Milton Nobles to the effect that a tele-
grat had been received on July 22, 1920 from Col. Leon Lambert, Chief
of Provincial Police, Quebec, Canada, advising he was holding a couple
calling theneelvea{*Brorne driving e cer bearing Arkansas license 119017,
and inquiring for a record. The telegram was addressed to the Chief of
Police at Hot Springs, Mr. Nobles suggested that there might be sone
connection batween these people and the parties sought.
It wae ascertained through inquiry at the State Capitol that
Arkansas license 119017 was issued to Madoline Yulotta, S10 Central, Hot
Springe for a 1929 Lincoln Sedan, motor number 56176, This information
was transmitted to the Kansas City Office,
Several attempts were made to contact Postoffice Inspector Tra
Ross, et Little Rock, Arkansas, but on each o¢casion Agents were advised
that he wea out of town. In the ovent it ia desired to place a cover on
mail at Kot Springs it is suggested thet the mail cover be placed through
ire Ross, who is a reliable source of information and who has cooperated —
with the Bureau in the pest.
