JOHN EDGAR HOOVER | U.S. Buren of Investigation Pepariment of Justice Washington, B.C. SPC/AEX August 10, 1933 MEMOPRANDIM FOR THE DIRECTOR Reference is made to the attached Associated Press nenspaper clipping, dated at Chicago, August 8, 1933, appearing -\ The Washington Post on August 9, 1933, referring to Louis (Ftecct, aliashf tacy. Stacy is the operator of the 0. P. Inn at Maywood, Thlinois, a suburb of Chicago, and is well nom to have been associated with a nunber of underworld characters. During the seerch for Frank Nash, Stacy's place was raided upon informetion that Nash could be located there. The aforementioned raid was based upon information obtained by Special sgent R. D. Brown of the Detroit Office, which I- believe was obtcined from a brother of Fontaine. A review of the obstruction of justice file indicates that Stacy was taken to the Chicago Office of the Division on July 22, 1933, by Special Agents Madala and Keating and Illinois State Police officers, and questiowed concerning ea telephone call made to the 0. P. Inn on J 16, 1933 and a telephone call made from the 0. P, Inn to FritaMulloy at Kansas City, Missouri, on June 16, 1933. He, at the time of the interview, however, pleaded ignorance to both calla. It appears that e long distance telephone call was made from the telephone of Mrs. E. B. Connor at Hot Springs, Arkansas, to the 9. P. Inn at Maywood, Illinois, at 2:50 P.M. on June 16, f 1933, and that a telephone call was made from the 6. P. Inn to a Fritz Mulloy of the Horseshoe Jnn at Kansas City, Missouri, on June 16, 1933. Stacy at theytime of the interview denied e acquaintance with Mrs. E. BU‘fonnor, Frits Frank Nash, or other members of tiis mob. | ( | : CUPIES DESTROYED. © aaa huG 14 1933 A.M. : rad unvvetD { a | aU avy 4U iw4 + ' I Kul "ont aAr merle Tiga Tway REQUKEED
