Moore stated he does not know whether this farm ia a hangout of Floyd; that he does not know the first nam of . Evans’ father but he is supposed to be fairly well to do and lives in Hot Springs. He could furnish no better description of the location of the farm but stated that 1t wae in the mountains. Agent asaumed, from the description, that the farm ie in the vicinity of Mt. Ida, ark, Moore added that while stopping with Floyd, he kept in contact with @ Mr. Robinsean, the Burns Agency man at Memphis; thet after being with Floyd for a little better than two weeks he decided to leave him as Rich was getting meaner all of the time and on several occasions, over triviel matters, had threatened to kill him. He stated he told Floyd of his troubles with Richand that he thought it best to leave. Floyd agreed and made arrangements with E.W. Floyd to take Moore to Sallisaw. Upon arriving at Ft. Suith he got in touch with Robinson at Memphis, telling him of his decision to leave Floyd, but offered to take men to Floyd'a hangout to capture him. He stated Robinson would not take him up on the offer, apparently being ufraid, and wanted bin to go back and maintain the contact, Moore refused and went to hie home at Dyereburg, Tenn., and later was arrested on the charge of stealing the car at Fayetteville above mentioned. He stated he did not want to fight extradition on this charge aa it would creete publicity and to beat the case he would have to expose the fact that he was in contact with Floyd while jn the employ of the ‘Burns Detective agency; that he returned to Fayetteville voluntarily and when Sheriff Harley Gover of Fayetteville put him in the County Jail, the Sheriff told the other prisoners that he was one of the Burns men and to beat him up; that he pleaded guilty on the car case because he could not divulge his ar- rangenments with the Burns Detective Agency end in April of this year was rail- roaded to the State Penitentiary under a one year sentence, for stealing the car at Fayetteville above mentioned. Moore atated that before he made contact with Floyd, Robinson of the Burns Detective Agency and he went to kr. McDougal, who was then in charge of the Arkensas State Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation, the latter promising him protection while he was with Floyd on any casea they pulled in Arkansas; that, however, because he refused to keep his contact with Floyd, the Burns Agency and «ll state officers he hed dealt with threw him over. Moore etated that while he was with Floyd the letter was ill ell of the time and some of the time he was under the influence of drugs which he took to kill the pain; that he would have long talks with Floyd ¢uring these periods and Floyd would tell bim of hie operations. He stated Floyd's main contact is George pheek of Seliisaw; that the former prosecuting attorney there by the name, he thinks, of FredéfGragen is also one of Floyd's men; that the present Sheriff and hie men are also’ protecting Floyd. Moore stated that he knows Floyd is receiving pro- tection from the following officers besides the ones above mentioned: The Sheriff at Tahlequah, Okla., the Night Marshal at Tahlequah and an Indien there
