hed front of Bobby Moore's car and pointed his pistol at the occupants, telling them to halt. Bobby Moore, who was driving the car, immed- lately screaned and the car started forward. Agent heard several shots which were avidently fired by Miller and also observed that Agent Nichols fired several shots at the car. Sergeants Freemuth and Kempster had proceeded from the sidewalk to the rear of the Ausurn coupe, and Sergeant Freefmth fired some shots with his pistol at the car. Sergeant Kempster endeavored to fire at the car with his machine gun, but due +o the people on both sides of the street an the fact that o man was alighting from a parked car directly in the line of fire, he had to withhold his fire and the car proceeded approx- imately one hundred feet before he was able to open fire with the machine gun, at which time he fired several bursts at the car. The writer did not endeavor to fire any shots from where he was located, inasmuch as Sergeants Kempster and Freeuuth were in his line of fire and Agent Nichols was immediately on the other side of the coupe and micht have been struck had any bullets passed through the coupe. All of the Agents on the street, together with Sergeants Kempster and Freemuth ran down Galt Avenue after the car to Clarendon Avenue, at which point the car was seen to turn right. Upon arriving et Clarendon Ayenue the car could not be seen. Upon instructions of Special Agent Guinane we returned to the Sherone Apartments, at which point word was received that the car of 3obby Moore had been located. Respectfully submi ttad, ~ “UE | ¥. A. SMITH, Special agent. WAS: HG
