About 8:29 F.11. we received word that a man who was supposed to be Verne iiiller in apartment 211 was to come out. In the hell of apartment 211 there was agent John liadala who twas at the door to let us out when the identification was made by scent Notesteen. As Miller walked down the hall of the building towerd 3 epertment and turned to go down the steps, I heard Agent Meadala say there he is, and open the door of our apartment. There were Ser- geants Freemuth, Curtin and Kemrster and agent J, J. veating ahead of mé; es we reached the stairway Miller was not in sight so Sergeant Freenuth opened the door to the stairway leading down to the first floor. He was going very slowly, that is it seemed slow to the writer. After we reached the lobby we saw & man in @ brown suit at the desk of the hotel with his back to us. ‘We walked over to hia and Sergeant Freemth asked him his name. When this man turned around I saw thet he was not the man. Freemuth turned around, apparently not knowing - what to do. I said he has gone out to the car, as I had heard the car blowing the horn for ifiller before we left the apartment. I knew that the car was the one he was to use as I had looked out the window, and saw the car that belonged to Bobbie Moore waiting at the Galt Street entrance. I sort of pushed fergeant Freemuth toward the Galt Street entrance and he walked, did not run. I was coming in behind hin, as I was not sure of the identification, and I was kind of held back, but I saw, &s we reached the entrance door, that he, Freemuth, was not in very mich of = hurry. I, accordingly, ran out anc saw Miller in the car. I bollered for him to stop the car. as I hollered I was running zlong the parkway.
