Fe Sims of the Lone Star Cafe at Benton told him some time ago that he had known Gelatas by sight for a long time aa that Subject frequently took meals at hie cafe while passing through the tows Mre Landera stated he waa informed about six weeks ago by Sims that the latter bad just seen Galatas ride through town in a small coupe going in the general direction of Hot Springs or Texarkana,:- Arkansas, on highwayea 67 and 70, These highways separate shortly after leaving Benton however and it would not be definitely know where Galatas waa bound, Sime also told Mr. Landers that Galatas formerly had e hide out in New Orleans, Louieianae When ahowm a photograph of Galatas, Mre Lendera advised the Agents that he had seen him on numerous occasions at Benton and in Hot Springs before June 17, 1933, and — promised to communicate direct with the Eanaas City office should he ascertain the location of thia Subject, He waa furnished with the telephone number and address of this office for the purpose in question. Mr. Landers further stated that he has a friend named Clyde // |. Gray, who is employed by the pudlisher of the Public Opinion, a news {* sheet in Hot Springs, arkensase Mre Gray told Mr. Landers recently /\ _ that about two months ago Galatas came out of hiding and was stopping: : near Hot Springs in a lodge omed by Major Leo McLaughline It was ‘\. stated that Mr. Gray told Landera that Galatas ia wearing the garb of a chef ané is "laying low.* Gray ia seid to be confident that he can obtain more definite information and has intimated that he wild furnish such date to Mre Landerag Landers in turn bas promised to Conmmaicate with the Kansas City offices Subsequent to her apprehension and while at Memphis, Tennessee, Mrs, Louise)Conner atated to agents who interviewed her that she had no knowledgq ‘of the telephone messages sent from her apartment at Hot Springs on June 16, 1935, which pertain to the instant case, In addition she has maintained that she was not at home during that day
