arkie Guinn, the solored girl sho acted as maid for Mrae
Louise Conner in Hot Springs up to about June 17, 1935, was located
at 804 Quapaw Street there, there she is now employed as a domestics
Her residence is at 107 Daisy Street at Hot Springs. When
interviewed by the Agenta she advised that she worked for Louise
Bonner for only six weeks prior to the latter's disappearance during
June, 1933¢ She stated that she came to work each day about 2 F.Ms
and left after dinner each evening; that the last time she saw Mrse
Conner was about two o'clock one afternoon when ashe came to wrk
end found Mree Connor attired in golf togse at that time Mree
Conner told her she waa going golfing and instructed her to inform
any callers that she would roturn home laterg aAbat four ofclock
that afternoon Mrs. Conner telephoned her to the effect that she
would take dinner out and that arkie Guinn might leave, she also
told the colored girl et that time that she would not be needed and
should not return until Mra. Conner again got in touch with her,
Arkie Guinn claimed that she left the house shortly thereafter and
has not been in touch with Mrs. Conner since thene The agents
questioned her relative to anyone being in the house when she
arrived on the last afternoon in Mrs. Conner's employe She said
that Mra. Conner however was alone on that afternoon and she
maintained that nce one called at the house after Mrae Conner
departed It was impossible to fix the exct day or date when arkio
Guinn ateates she last worked for Mrs. Conner and she world not even
atate the month aa being Juneés She atated that upon departim from
the Conner apartment each day while employed there it waa her
inatructiona and custom to lock the front door and depart through
the rear exit which was left unlockede Efforts to secure more
definite information from this colored person were futile. fhe is

During the conversation with Mr. Cameron of the Park Hotel
he atated that it was generally underatood that while at Hot Springs
Galatas offered protection to those with whom he was associated,
Cameron expreased the belief that because of thie Galates was forced
to see thet Nash was not taken to the penitentiary end had accordingly
taken the action which resulted in the death of officers, as well as
the prisoner, on June 17, 1933,
