Mr. Eeith telephoned from the Field Office at 1:00 PM today and stated that they had just received another lead on "Pretty Boy" Floyd. Word was received from the Charlotte office to the effect that a Chrysler car hed been wrecked near Releigh, N.C., last evening and that tro strange men abandoned the car, commandeered 4 car drived by a local resident of Raleigh and forced him te drive array... This morning the resident referred to telephoned his family in Raleigh that he was in Petersburg, Virginie. It is believed that one of the two men who abandoned the Chrysler may be Pretty Boy Floyd, and Mr. Keith is sending Agent Levin and another agent down to Petersburg to check up on the matter, although Mr. Keith stated that he believed it was just another wild steer on Floyd.
