He stated that in connection with locating the Barker-Karpis mob, he had an ; . \ intormant in the Oklahoma City territory who is now he praesd Orbe and receiving $20 per week salary; that this informant had been previously convicted five times and he believed that he could locate the Barker-Karpis mob and he will advise the Oklahoma City af fice of such location. T[ told Ur. Brantley that unless he heard promptly to the contrary to obtain the services of 7 this individual and that he was authorized to commit the Division in a sum not exceeding $190 for such purpose and that before this sum had been expended, in the event additional expenditures . were necessary, to communicate with the Division; that this - individual should not be placed upon the rolls of the Division . as individuals with previous criminal records are not accepted but that if he rendered personal services and travelled under the direction of Mr. Brantley, that he might start such negotiations - at once.
