Chief of Police “. J, Leonard, Topeka, Kansas, advised that he mew a
Dor. Y. £. Quinn employed as an optician at the S ars and Roebuck Company.
He stated tat Dr. duincn had recently done some work for him, and so
far as he knew, Quinn bore a good reputetion. He stated that Guinn had
been employed by Sears and Roebuck Gompany for about the past three years
end for.erly resided in Kensas Citv, Missouri. Chief Leonsrd steted, of
course, he did not know what the activities of Quinn were while in Kan-
eas City.
Concerning telesione call, 4ea T. Kremer, telephone number LD 199, and
LD 26, Cepitol Hotel, from a saicon at 1412 Me Gee Street, 1t wis as-
certa ned through IT, Grindle thet no LD number, as ststed ap eam in
Toveka. There is ea Capitol Hotel at Topeka, Fensas, but no auch hotel
is Ilmovn in Lewrence, Kanses. At the Capitol Hotel, Topeka, Kansas,

mate detes disclosed no one registcred there by the neme cf fea T. Kra-
mer, cut a Nerf Kramer wes listed es hsving beer in the hotel on October
22, 1933, “Me adéditionel information wes obtained ecncerning this Neff
Krecer. The Caritol Hotel cdces not have Ho. LD 26 or LD 1932.
Purther informetion was obtained by consulting the City Directory at
Tope :a, Kenseas, that H. E. Quiun resided at the Throop Hote’. This
was verified by a telephone inquiry to that Hotel, wich tele vhone
nuzber number is 7768. From previous investigation cn other ceases
by this agent, it was deemed advisabie not to meke a direct approach
at the Throop Sotel at thia tire, because it is believed thet informa-
tion could be aecertained from that eource confidentially.
Vr. J. E. We Coy, Mer., S. W. Bell Telephme Comoany, Lawrence, Kensas,
wes interviewed, and he edvised that there wae no telephme numbers
Lp 26 and LD 199 in existence eat Lawrence, Kenses, end he could find
no record of any such numbers existing there in October of 1933. No
telephone was listed under the name of Asa T. Cramer. The telephone
Directcry for Lawrence, Fensas, contained no such name as Asa T, Cremer.
Asa T, Cramer was unknown to Chief of Police Nv. J, Leonarc. Chief Leo-
nerd contected the Credit Bureau at Lawrence, Kansas, and ascertained
that Ase T. Cremer was unimorn at that place. From the above namec
sourees, so far as could be learned, there is no Capitol Hotei at Law-
rence, ansas. ,
