Decenter 12, 1953, I. E. Walston, House Detective of the Phillips Hotei,
Vanses City, Missouri, called at the Kansas City Division office and
surrendered a letter addressed to him by Mr, J, M. Miler of Fichita,
Kansas, the same having been dated at Tichita, Kansas, Decexber 1, 1933,
The sutstance of the letter was that a very good friend of Hiler's at
Nichitea gave to Mr, Miler the name and eddress of a man tho ras fatting
in touch with Wilber Underhill and Pretty Boy Floyd close tc their hide-
cuts, anc requested thet he be intsrviewed in connection Kith the same.
Mr, Walston, who was formerly Chief of Police at Tichita, Fansas, ad-
vised that Miler had formerly worked under him, and that he consijered
Miler a very good man on running down information cf this kind, and
one whe could oreoduce results. Mr. Miler's address was given es 1721
Victor Street in care of Clarence Webster. Wilber Underhill having
been epprehended the information given by Mr. Miler ecncerning hir,
of course, is not material,
Mr. Miler was int rviewed by this agent for whatever infer: ation he
possessed co cerning the wheresbcuts cf subject Floyd.
Mr, Miler steted thst he hsd otteined the information from
confiventially, anc he did not desire that an scent
of this office cpproscs until he, Miler, first had an op-
portunity to interview him. Mr, Kiler'’s present address is 609 So.
Veshingtou, wichita; he advised thst tron he obtained the in-
formation that &. A. Me Fadden, 214 So. Clifton Street, Tele phone
No, 49 O76, who is engaged in the selling of oi] pipe anc supplies
and reputed to be a ercok, wes engaged with C. ¥, Be Vickers, an eat-
tcrey in the Eeacon Euilcing, Richita, Yansas, Telephone No. 2 4 093,
in the handiing of stolen bonds, which were coming from Subject Floyd.
Kr. Miler stated that several yeers ago, Me Fadden disposed of 216,000
worth cf stolen bonds in Kansas City, Missouri, and it was reported
that Ve Fadden trought approxim=tely $100,000 worth of bonds into
Vichite, Kansas, in Jovember, 1933,
Mr. Miler stated that he would contact and ascertein from
him his attitude ecncerning being directly approached by an Agent of
this Division, and perbe>s MAIER 0312 furnish sufficient informa-
tion, weicnh cculd be verifiec, ir. Miler stating that, he, Miler, had
no personel nnowled,e econcern’ng infor:retion ctove reiated. Arrangenents
