Department of Justice, ‘NDEXED DNSEE QF IEVIST4 Washington, D.C, “War 19 4 Dear Sir: RE: VERNON oUILUER(Decea € CONSPIRACY TO DELIVER FEDERAL PRISONER Reference is made to my telephone conversations with you on Merch 13th, perticulerly with reference to information shown in various reports in thie matter reletive to parties residing at 204 __ Vernon Avenue,\St. Paul, Minnesota, from May 28, 1933, to June 19, 1933. It is noted thet these individuals have been identified as arthur 2. Berker, Vred,Borker, Alvin X.rpis end Mrs. Peule Hermon, The information in question waa originally shown fn the report of Special Agent ©. G. Hell, dated at St. Paul, Kinnesota, July 27, 1933, in this matter, The Kansas City office has borne the facts in this connection in mind throughout this investigation. It. anrears thet the St. Paul office originally undertook investigation of the individuals who resided at the address on Vernon avenue, in connection with the kidneping of Tim A Hamm, who wes kidnaped at St. Paul, Minnesota, on June 16, 1933, and returned by the kidnapers on June 19th after payment of ransom. It is shown thet the men who resided at 204 Vernon Avenue were appsrently absent from that resi- dence during the period from June 1fth to late on the night of June 19th, and that all of the individuals there departed hurriedly early on the morning of June 20, 1933. It is also indicated that they were possibly "tipped off" by somone in the Gt. wen “a Departrent. It will be noted also that Frank sash tekether with. Mrs. Frances Nash, and her small dauchter, stopped to visit the perties at 204 Vernon Avenue during the week of June 4 to 10, 1933. <A latent the , ene Ac 1654 &é. {LS Gurei che wh JUST. ANAUOOM fingerprint found at that residence wes identified asa that of Frank Nash, Mrs. Nash identified photographs of the Barkers and Kerpis es the men who resided at 204 Vernon Avenue, when she and her husbend vieited there.
