Biss Kendrick etated that L. T. Mart, when presenting the
bullet to her on March 2, 1924, told ber that he had been keeping
the bullet as a souvenir and that he had picked this up among other
specimens on the Station Plaza immediately after the shooting on
June 17, 19232. hart is to be interviewed to datermine all par-
ticulars in regard to this matter from him, end if he has any addi-
tional exhibits same will be secured.
General details were sought through the interview with
Liss Kendrick pertaining to the shooting at the Union Station, but
that she did not observe any of the individuals who
d in tke massacre in 4 manner which would enable her to
identify/anyone. Ste stated that she bad heard a colored woman
remarx ‘that sie had seen the assassins in a Aistinct manner and she
believes that "Alice", whose last name she Aloces not know, through
tinidity has never stated what she actualzy might know in regard
to the matter. She also stated thet efpantry man at the Union |
Station, nate not known to her, hed also réfsrked that immediately
before the massacre he was accosted by the assassins while he wes
in his car near the Union Station, and for that reason she believes
that he would be able to identify them if he were not afraid to do so.
Agent Trainor ascertained on March 2lst at the Union Rail-
road Station that the name of the pantry man in question is Paul
Martenson, and thet he works at nisht. Arrangements ere being made
through Sheriff Bash to interview l'artenson privately at the Kansas
City Office during the day time, in a hope that full information
may be secured from him es to his knowledze of the identities of
the assassins. Pe vas interviered in the early ateges of this ine
vestigetion and advised that he could identify no one.
You are being advised of these circumstances in advance
of the canpletion of the verious inquiries and the rendition of a
consolidated report pertaining to the ballistic evidence, in orler
thet the Division mey be in possession of such facts as are available.
