Midwest, Wyoming, stated that Harry Campbell worked under him for’ 2.
@ period of about four years, but Campbell originally came from aan
Oklahoma and appeared to be a@ decent sort of young fellow at the . o
time that he first cammenced working for him. During the period of -
hia employment under Mr. Bessie, Campbell become what was known as —
4 "pumper® at the oil wells, an employment not requiring any great
amount of skill but necessitating some experience, and involving .--
an elementary knowledge of the principle of machinery. During
the period of his employment under Mr, Bessie, Campbell injured
his right leg very seriously, and apparently thie injury hes resulted
ine perceptible limp which may atill be apparent. It is three or
four years since Campbell was employed under Mr. Bessie's supervision,
and he was unable to submit the name of any other fellow employee
of Campbell during the period of‘the latter's residence at Midwest, ._|
who was still located at this city, it being noted that the conditions
of business at Midwest at the present time are no better than fair,
and that meny of the former residents of this vicinity have moved | - ~
elsewhere, = = — ,
Mr, Bessie, who bas a fine reputation in the community,
state: that he would make inquiry to obtain further pertinent information,
and upon receipt of the same, would submit it to Postmaster George Nance
for transmission to the Salt Leke City Division office, He stated
specifically that he would andeavor to locate Campbe!1'a enploywent
record, and if possible an application for employment, which Campbell
likely filied out prior to his connection with these oil wells at
Midwest. ot
While Harry Campbell was at Midwest, he alse hed a
brother similarly employed, but the brother of "Harry Campbell left
Midwest at the same time that Harry left, and the brother apparently
went to some community in the northwest section of Uteb. Mr. Bessie
also stated that he would endeavor to ascertain the identity of that
Community, and the given name of ‘Harry Campbell's brothers aw
