CV 98-2140 (4) above es being active in leading this group had continued attempting to get the crowd to go into admmtown Kent, but because of the arrival of the Ohio National Guard, the crowd had aecided not to go into the Gowndown area. He edded that this individual had talked with him previously and had been very excited about the fact that their activitics would make "national news" and thet this individual had hit the Onio National Guard with stones. : dvised the crowd then had gene across the campus in tie airection of the Administration Building and | as they arrived in the vicinity of the Student Union, they had been "gassed" with tear qas and the crowd could not ge in the direction of the KSU power plant since there was a group of Portage County Deputy Sheriff's in that area. He remarked the c&owd had then moved in the opposite direction ana hea moved around the end of Engleman Hall and back on to the Comiwons area. It was at this time he first observod flancs comine from the ROTC Luilding. He estimated these flancs conning from the ROTC building were approximately 15 feet in height @nda the building had heen burning for sone tise before he nad arrived hack at the Commons, said the crowd head moved aciwoss the Careons and several of them sat on the hillside below teyler Hall and watched the KOTC building burn, He said he had bacn sittieg with the second individual whe hed been an appurent leader, who he has ceseribed above, and while thoy were together, an unknown white male, about 35 years of age, 516" to S'7" tall, 165 pounds, wearing a black or dark brown leather jacket, white shirt, slacks and low cut street shoss, had ocn attenmptimng to “werk up the stucents" again, Ne advise the person with whom he was sitt ing hed told him not te pay any attention to this individual and this same parsen hed Said the whove-descraibed man was with the "Socialist Party." advised the person he had obscarved at. the Rorc DUL Lait, and later who had boen ackive in setting the small archery building afire, had not been seen in the grow efter they left the sinall archeiry building, He connented he had letei seen this person at about 11:00 Bi that evening when the crowd moved back to the fri-'towers area and when it was about to break up.
