THREAT AGAINST THE PRESIDENT
At 10:05 p.m., on September 14, 1967, Special
Agent John E, Otto telephonically advised Special Agent
La oe Secret Service, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,
ice, of the following information:
Charles Augustus Livezly, 12 East Barber,
Woodbury, New Jersey, furnished a signed statement during
the evening of Septetaber 14, 1967, 3

On September 12, 1967, Livezly composed and
mailed from Camden obscenely worded letters containing
Memands for money and threats against the lives of the
recipients who were the President of the United States,
Lyndon B. Johnson, Mrs. Lyndon B. Johnson, the President's
wife, J. Edgar Hoover, Director of the Federal Bureau of
Investigation, a Mrs. J. Edgar Hoover, intended for a wife
of Mr. Hoover, Cardinal John Krol, a Roman Catholic prelate
of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,
Livezly could not recall the exact wording he used
in his letters to President and Mrs. Johnson, however, he
Stated they did contain threats to kill each of them.
He stated, to the best of his memory, the envelope of the
letter to the President was addressed to President Johnson
while the envelope of the letter to the President's wife
Was addressed to Mrs. L. B. Johnson in care of the White
House, Washington, BD. C.
