In connection with this matter, a wire was also cirected to
the Detroit office requesting that they contact the Iuick Kotor
Company, Detroit, for the purpose of ascertaining to whom the 1938
Buick sedan, motor ed had been originally consigned. as
yet, no reply has been received and they are being notified to disy-
continue that lead.
asthe information furnished this office that Phillip
Kauvar, half-brother of subject Buchalter, was engaged in the trucking
business, a check of the New York State Motor Vehicle Bureau, New York
City, revealed that there was no-operators or owners license issued at
any tine in the name of Aauver. Turther investization will ce mace
to determine the present address and occupation of this inaividual.
Inquiry was made by agents at the Tudor Hall Apartments,
426 Eastern Parkway, S5rooklyn, New York, indicated as a former adc-
dress of Ir. pnanuel Buchalter, for the purpose of obtaining what
snformetion wes availeble pertinent to the relstives of suchalter.
The superintendent of the azartment aGvised that the sane type of
inguiry had been made of hin several times in the past by law en-
forcement officers, whose identity he could not furnish at tnis time,
and that he furnished them the only information available to hiz,
which was that Dr. Smanuel Buchalter, also known es Ldward suchalter,
resided in the apartment house for about six years, movin, frcem there
in about 1934, the new address not being known to the superintendent.
