Investigation was conducted at 947 Montgomery Street,
Brooklyn, Ni. Ye, previously reported as the address of Isidore’
Buchalter, brother of:.one of the subjects, but irs. Feinstein, who
stated she wes superintendent of the apartment house in the absence
of her husband, advised that as far es she knew there wes no one
registered in the apartment house nemed Isidore suchalter, but trat
a man named Irving Buchalter occupied apartment 12F with nis wife
for the past year and cne-half. She stated that he was a drugyist
whose business is located in ijanhatten and tnat she coule vouch for
his good character. It was apparent that «rs. ‘einstein was on very
gooa terms with Buchalter-and his wife and so the purpose of agents'
inquiries were not made known tc her, so that it could not be esteblishec
through this source whether Irving Buchalter is identical witn Isidore
Suchelter. It snovle be noted that only "I. fuchalter" appeared on the
apartment house directory. It shoula also be notec that the teievnone
Girectory for Brooklyn lists Irving Eucnalter és residing at tne
montgomery Street address. ‘
; Inquiry was also made at 607 Hegeman avenue. Samuel
‘Buchalter, drugsist, was interviewed, and stated that he had no rela~
tives nemed Louis Euchalter, but that he had a cousin named Isidore
2uchalter who was a druzjist’ at some address in iianhattan. Samuel’
Suchalter stated he ned not been in contact with this EBuchalter
family for a great many years and could furnisn no information about
them. He stated that they were distant cousins of his and that his
fanily had never visited them. It wés apsarent from Samuel : Fuchalter's
attitude inet he wes tellirs the truth in this resrect.
