Incicent: 190 On 11 October 1948 at approximately 1300 bours an unidentified object wes observed by aix milit-ry personnel of 86th Fighter Wing Seubiberg AF Base, Neubiberg, Germany. Object was estimated to be at 40,000 ft on s 50° heading from Neub§berg AP Bare and was sighted continously for 45 mimtes, gradually becoming emaller and smaller - apparently rising but no change in compass direction wes moted and it was apparently not infiuenced by the winds aloft, Tne visible circunference of the object appe red round but it could not bo ascertained if it were diso-shaped or balli:t-chaped, It we: eilver in color and wery shiny in the rays of the sun, An A¥Y=8 craft flying between the object end the observers on the ground @ :esred small in relation to tue size of the object. The estimated altituie of the jet was 25,000 ft. Object ws lost to view when a thin layer of clouds (estimated to be at about 20,000) ft) passed Detween the object ami the ground ooververs, igh reliability iv given tne personnel sighting thie object.
